Scenario Head Hunter from round one 'Ard boy campaign
The Ork player deploy only his Gretchin unit to vaoid Space Marine deploying nearby. The Space Marine deploys a combat squad (i.e. 5 marines), with a Lascannon, on top of a stucture.
Turn 1
The first turn was not very eventful. Both armies came fully into play except for the reserves. Night fighting rules made shooting go by without any effect.
Turn 2
Ork communication systems seemed to work flawlessly causing the both deffkopta units to arrive on the battle field as directed by the Warboss. They lined up to shoot at the Dreadnought and the Devastator squad. The Trukks rushed forward while the Battlewagon and the Looted wagon stayed together, moving forward at a lower pace. The Lascannon of the Dreadnought got heavily damaged by the Ork rokkits. On the other side of the battlefield the Space Marine Devastators suffered 3 casualties from rokkits. The Deffguns firing a total of 24 rounds killed two Space Marines. Other Ork shooting was without any result.In close combat the two remaining devastators were killed by the Ork deffkopta riders.
Chaplain Cassius ordered a squadron of two Landspeeders to deep strike in front of the Ork Lootas. Unfortunately an error in the navigation systems caused the Landspeeders to land far off the battlefield. The Landspeder already on the battlefield rush to get around the Ork forces to try and hit the weak spot In the meanwhile the Rhinos and Land Raider repositioned. The Land Raider, a Rhino (with Hunter Killer missile) and a Space Marine squad with Lascannon fired at the Battle Wagon but were unable to penetrated the Kustom Force Field and the thick front armour. Both Ork trukks got hit by the other Space Marines squad and the Dreadnought causing the them to be shaken.
Turn 3
Ork Nobs disembark from Trukk and start shooting at the Space Marines without result. The Rhino nearby get shot by 4 deffkoptas and a Trukk's Big Shoota. This cause the Rhino to explode. Thanks to their good armour all passengers survive the explosion. The other Deffkoptas managed to immobilise the Dreadnaught. The Lootas gain fired 24 rounds but failed to kill any Space Marine. During close combat the 5 Space Marines were no match for 9 Nobs with a total of 3 Power Klaws.
The Space Marine commander ordered the Vanguard squad to deep strike near the Lootas and take them out in hand to hand combat. Unfortunatly the message was delayed and so where the Vangaurd marines. The Dreadnaught and a tactical marine with a Lascannon fail to do any damage to the Ork Battlewagon. Chaplain Cassius and his squad charges the Nobs Killing a few of them. Both Nobs and Space Marines suffer losses but the combat is not over yet. Meanwhile the chaplain in the remainig rhino tries to avaoid Ork fire hoping to only disembark when he has a chance to charge the Orks.
Turn 4
The Orks are eager to jump from their Battle wagon and kill some humies. But da Boss knows better and makes sure they stay put until he starts the Whaaagh. The Battle Wagon fires it's Kannon at the Rhino but misses. The Deffkoptas and Meks, inside the Looted wagon, fire at the Landraider but do not damage it. One of the Kustom Mega Blastas has a major malfuntion and wound the Mek operating it causing the Mek to die. Still not aware of the danger the Landraider opposesOrk Lootas kill 2 Marines leaving only one Marine with a Lascannon.
The Landraider comes close enough to the Lootas and kill 4 of them with it's hurricanebolters. It seemed the Lootas were pretty confident as the Landraider did not make them run away. It could just as well be that they just did not realise they were under fire as they were far too busy with firing the noisy deffguns..... The Vanguard squad finally arrives, but not exactly on the planned location. Instead of landing near the Nobs they land near an Ork Trukk and the Deffkoptas. Fortunately the Deffkoptas are within close combat range. Hand to hand combat between them
Turn 5
The Looted wagon maneuverd to get a clear shot at the Rhino’s rear armour. Battlewagon used it’s Kannon to hit the side armour. One of the Burna boys on the Looted wagon manages to wreck the Rhino forcing the Chaplain and his Space Marines to disembark. Meanwhile the Lootas finally kill the Space Marine with Lascannon (and now realise there's a Landraider shooting at them....).
The Deffkoptas that are in close combat with the Vanguard squad get the help from the Ork 'Ard Nob and his Boyz. Although they make a good stand against the Orks they all lost their lives.
A very bad situation for the Space Marines. The Chaplain and his marines are trapped between a mountain face, a Looted wagon, a Battle wagon and a wrecked Rhino. The Chaplain chooses to hold the position. The Landraider uses his Machine spirite to divide shots between the Lootas and the Deffkoptas. All four Lootas are killed by the fire of the Hurricane Bolters. The Deffkoptas only suffer one wound from the Assault cannon.
Turn 6
The Ork Warboss gives the command to slaughter the Space Marines. The Ork Burna Boyz jump out of their Looted wagon to charge the marines. The Orks and the Warboss disembark from the Battlwagon for the same reason: "Kill da stinkin 'umies!". The Space Marines manager to kill a few Burna Boyz but found themselves completely swarmed by Ork in a matter of minutes, a complete massacre... The Landraider again did not even got scratched by the Ork rokkits from the Deffkoptas. In return the Landraider managed to kill just afew more Orks but not the Big Mek or Warboss.
The result
Massacre by the Orks! Jospfh gained 20 point for the Massacre plus 4 points for having all HQ choices alive, destroying opponent's HQ choices, destroying opponent's troops and having more scoring unit in enemy deployment zone.
